The Polywood Shutter Insulating System and Duette Architella Cellular Shades, by Hunter Douglas is certified for the Federal Energy Tax Credit. When you insulate your windows with Polywood and or Duette Architella cellular shades, you can earn a tax credit for 30% of the cost of the shutter system or Duette Architella purchase, up to a maximum credit of $1500. This applies to made and installed during 2009 and 2010.

The Polywood Shutter Insulating System and Duette Architella Cellular Shades have been designed for energy savings. They both were created to reduce heat loss or gain in a home or building. The Polywood material is engineered to reflect outside temperature. Both products have been tested and proven to reduce heat transfer and significantly improve the R Value, U Factor and Solar Heat Gain of any window.
HOW POLYWOOD and DUETTE ARCHITELLA SHADE APPLIES
Polywood Shutter Insulating Systems and Duette Architella qualify for the Federal Tax Credit under the category of "Insulating Products."
STEPS TO OBTAINING YOUR TAX CREDIT
- Add additional insulation protection to your windows when you purchase the above products between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.
- Print our Manufacturer’s Certification Statement which can be found here. Fill out the information on the certificate.
- Attach your sales receipt that shows the amount paid for your Polywood Shutter Insulating System and/or Duette Architella Shades.
- Print and complete IRS form 5695 and take all items to your tax preparer for submission.
